Barbell Basics

Each new trainee with be guided through our Barbell Basics course before becoming a member at Valens Strength and Conditioning. This one time course involves the completion of 2, one hour personal training sessions with a coach for confidence to be gained under the barbell and ensure correct form for the main lifts. The first session will cover the Squat and Press and the second session will cover the Deadlift and Bench Press. After completing the 2 sessions, trainees can choose one of the membership options below or complete more personal training sessions.

Hours:

Open Gym– Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8am-11am and 4pm-8pm. Saturday 9am-11am.

Small Group– Monday, Wednesday and Friday 6am-7am, 7am-8am and 11am-12pm. Tuesday and Thursday 7am-8:30am, 8:30am-10am, 4pm-5:30pm and 5:30pm-7pm. Saturday 7am-8am and 8am-9am.


Personal Training Options

One month commitments are required for any personal training options. The Barbell Basics course is not required prior to signing up for a month of personal training.

* Drop-ins are able to come during any open gym hours, excluding Monday nights 4pm-8pm. Some instruction will be provided. Drop-ins must be familiar with the Starting Strength Method. If you are looking to get coaching on your lifts, please make a personal training appointment.*
